A Little More Like Home is owned by Elise Schaecher and operates with the support (and heavy lifting of her husband, Jeff). Elise started alittlemorelikehome as an Instagram account in 2021, to document the journey of making their recently purchased 1950s house (which was full of needed projects) a home. In the process both Elise and Jeff became interested in buying vintage mid century modern furniture vs. new and loved it so much, that it became a business. Elise created the website in May of 2021.
The Brick and Mortar Location at 3801 Dodge St, opened September 9, 2023. A Little More Like Home offers an uncommon vintage shopping experience. Customers comment on the like-new condition of the restored pieces and the carefully curated selection. Every piece is ready to go home with you or Elise and Jeff have the skills and resources to customize it to your taste!
Also unlike most furniture stores, A Little More Like Home is not open all the time. The careful selection process and behind the scenes restoration is ongoing. The Gallery of current offerings has regular open hours on Saturdays 1-4:30 pm. Feel free to reach out for an appointment outside of this timeframe.
