It's that time of year, when you have a mixture of excitement and anxiety about hosting family and friends in your home. What will you serve? What needs to be cleaned? Should you consider changing out your dining room furniture in order to more comfortably accommodate everyone?
At A Little More Like Home, we are well known for offering fully restored vintage dining sets. Why should you consider them, especially when there are newer alternatives at a lower price point?
When we source vintage furniture, we are always looking for the best quality. Even after 60 years of use by their original owners, the dining furniture that we offer is of higher quality construction and features more functional designs than what you can buy new!
Browse your favorite Big Box store's website or better yet, go in person to compare some of the new offerings to the vintage sets we offer.
New Sets Leave Something to Be Desired
Something that you are not likely to find, is the versatility of leaves. Vintage dining sets often include multiple leaves (we usually see two to three). If left unrestored, many dining set leaves will not match the table due to being stored and not receiving the same use and exposure to sunlight over the decades. Restoration by Duane's Refinishing, our refinishing partner, makes the leaves match seamlessly with the finish of the rest of the table.
This Broyhill Brasilia Dining table has dropleaves - so that it can be placed against a wall if needed and easily fits through a doorway!
You Need Sturdy Chairs
Come in store and try sitting in one of our chairs that accompany our dining tables. You will find them to be sturdy as well as comfortable. I browsed the reviews on one of the largest furniture stores in the country and saw complaints about flimsy chairs. At A Little More Like Home, we ensure that all chairs are reglued if needed (think about years of scooting back or kids tipping in chairs) and we also add new high density foam to almost all of our sets. We also have the chairs refinished to match the dining tables.
Heirloom Quality
The vintage we source has already stood the test of time. When you purchase one of our dining sets, we expect that you will be able to enjoy them not just for the current season, but to be able to pass them down to the next generation! They are truly heirloom quality!
